For example, if a server license is purchased for $29.95 via your affiliate link, you will earn $7.49 for every month that they remain a customer (so, a 12 month subscription would yield $89.88 total commission).
However, you can still make money as an affiliate even if you don’t have tons of traffic. I have a fraction of the traffic many fellow affiliate marketers have and yet my income rivals and in some cases exceeds theirs.
It comes with tons of research and website building done for you and extensive support, including the option to get detailed critiques from us to make sure every page of your site is optimized to sell.

Affiliate marketing isn’t easy, and it won’t make you rich overnight. But if you align yourself with the right product, receive the right training and execute on what you’ve learnt, there’s no limit to what you can achieve.
The concept of revenue sharing—paying commission for referred business—predates affiliate marketing and the Internet. The translation of the revenue share principles to mainstream e-commerce happened in November 1994, almost four years after the origination of the World Wide Web.
The market has grown in complexity, resulting in the emergence of a secondary tier of players, including affiliate management agencies, super-affiliates, and specialized third party vendors.
In which case you would feature those products on the page too – you might also offer a free guide or email series to help people get the most out of their Amazon Alexa device and the compatible accessories.
I see a lot of top people from the corporate world (Directors, CEO’s, Partners) invest this type of money because they want to fast-track their success online and learn how they can transition from corporate life to self-reliant, successful business owner.
Do I have legitimate experience with this product? If you don’t, pass. Being unfamiliar with a product you promote is risky for two reasons. First, if it turns out to be a dud, the trust you’ve built with your audience is damaged. Second, if your audience has questions about it, you won’t know how to answer.
I like Linkshare so far. So many products and companies to choose from as I have several websites and blogs. I would like to look at Amazon but not sure on tax laws for our state. That’s always a challenge with affiliate marketing in certain states.
Additionally, they make it pretty easy to promote upsells and products that generate recurring commissions, and from my personal use, I’ve found the interface, user experience, and payments to all be pretty good.
Placing fourth in the 2012 Blue Book of Top 20 Affiliate Networks, for a reporting system that “far surpasses other big networks,” this is one of the largest and most diverse affiliate programs available.
With possibly the most transparent affiliate network online, we give affiliates access to stats no other program dare, including earning data, conversion stats, demographic information and seasonality trends. Many affiliate programs will often run promotions with good discounts or giveaways that might be attractive to your audience. For example, if you’re an Amazon Associate and the site have a big Holiday Sale, it would be the perfect opportunity for you to promote discounts to your website visitors. This is a great way to promote your offers while also providing good value to your audience.
An audience. Who is your audience? “Everyone” is a bad answer. You’ve got to niche down, meaning, target a small subgroup of people. Maybe they are parents to toddlers. Maybe they are café owners. Maybe they are fly fisherman. Maybe they are nursing students.
Watch them. How are other content creators in your niche utilizing advertising? What types of ads do they use? What are they promoting? What do they talk about repeatedly (if you keep seeing the same affiliate product show up again and again, there’s a good chance they’re making good money from it)? If you see a product or service they talk about that jogs your memory and you can ethically promote it too, find affiliate information by the methods described above.
Hi, Jamie! Very good list. I needed something like this for 2018 so that I know what to target in the future blogs I create. As for now, I’m comfortable using SiteGround affiliate network and it’s pretty good actually. Their hosting service is pretty much the best considered its price. I’ve tried others but SiteGround stands out. I’ll also try new affiliate networks, something from the list you have just provided. I think Amazon is too saturated at the moment, and I need a better network. 2018 will be interesting indeed.
EroBaby isn’t a huge store by any means, but they still have a good selection of product lines, focusing on stuff that maximizes a parent’s ergonomic comfort. They have among the highest commissions I found in this market: 10%.
We’re big fans of keeping an eye on the competition here at Authority Hacker, it works for keyword research, it works for link building, and it also works for monetisation, including affiliate marketing!
Cost per mille requires only that the publisher make the advertising available on his or her website and display it to the page visitors in order to receive a commission. Pay per click requires one additional step in the conversion process to generate revenue for the publisher: A visitor must not only be made aware of the advertisement but must also click on the advertisement to visit the advertiser’s website.

For me I would choose a program with Recurring commission. You can build a real passive income. Its the best way to go! One suggestion is contact companies who sell services and ask if you can sell their service for them. Sometimes popular affiliate programs like these have just way too many people trying to sell their service. I personally went to sitecare.ca and asked them if I could sell their service and I couldn’t be happier! So find a service you believe in and go for it!
An Intermediate affiliate may drop a level after losing his best campaign, while the Affiliate Apprentice can turn Top Doggy Baller overnight if he stumbles in to an unsaturated niche and makes it pay (a daily occurrence in 2009, rare in 2013).
That way, if you decide to write a review to promote it or send the affiliate link for the product’s sales page to your email list, etc., you will have first-hand knowledge of how it works. This will help you to decide it the product has real value pertaining to your niche. I, personally, won’t sell anything I haven’t tried myself to be sure they work as advertised. Selling just to make money with no real value is a sure way to lose customers and ultimately destroy your business. Bad reputations are hard to get rid of once you get one, especially when there’s money involved. With that being said, I hope you all have a great holiday season.
What I do instead is when I want to promote a particular merchant with whom I don’t have an affiliate account for whatever reason, I create a custom Skimlink for that merchant. Also, if a particular merchant is a preferred or elite merchant with Skimlinks, the commission can be very good. AliExpress is an example.”

This has been amazing read thanks Perrin. I’m new to affiliate marketing and look around to learn from those who are doing well. The standard of this article is way out there and has given me an inspired look to where I need to aim to get ahead of the rest. thanks again for this and I will be coming back time and time again 🙂 Colin
However, just like many other things, there are some affiliate programs that will benefit the merchant and the marketer more than the other. For this reason, we have prepared a list of the Top 10 Affiliate Programs that are not only the most popular but guarantee marketers and merchant mutual satisfaction.
Although in the first year of providing web hosting services to its customers, Bluehost earns roughly around 25-35$ per customer, but that’s not going to stop. A customer who has taken web hosting services from Bluehost is most likely to continue the service in the second, third and consecutive years.
Many voucher code web sites use a click-to-reveal format, which requires the web site user to click to reveal the voucher code. The action of clicking places the cookie on the website visitor’s computer. In the United Kingdom, the IAB Affiliate Council under chair Matt Bailey announced regulations that stated that “Affiliates must not use a mechanism whereby users are encouraged to click to interact with content where it is unclear or confusing what the outcome will be.”
Sometimes you find out an advertiser uses an affiliate network when you are browsing the list of advertisers in your affiliate network. For example, I might be logged into ShareASale and do a search for “Merchants” (their term for advertisers) in the Home & Garden category. When I do, I see that Wayfair runs its affiliate program via ShareASale._
I have a sustainable tourism platform in Barcelona, Spain and have recently started an affiliate program. It’s nice to understand what affiliates are looking for and what’s on offer elsewhere. Thank you for a great source of ideas 😉
